History
Kelburn Castle, just outside Largs, is one of Scotland’s oldest continuously inhabited castles. The Boyle family has lived here since the 12th century, and the castle itself blends medieval architecture with later additions from the 16th and 18th centuries.
In 2007, it became known internationally for its bold graffiti mural, created by Brazilian street artists—a striking contrast to the historic stonework and now a defining feature of the estate.
For Sian, Kelburn has always been a bit more than just a local landmark. She grew up nearby, took riding lessons on the grounds, and later returned to work as one of the park rangers and castle guides. It’s where she was working when she and James first met—so it holds a quiet significance in their story.
Today, Kelburn remains a mix of old and new, wild and wonderful—an ideal setting for a celebration.
